Strategy of the International Cooperation Department
The main objective of International Cooperation Department is assistance to strengthening and further development of leader positions of al-Farabi Kazakh National University as world-class modern higher education institution.
One of the key directions of the international activity of university is the academic partnership with foreign universities within which the international educational and scientific projects are realized.
Today al-Farabi Kazakh National University is in partnership with more than 300 largest universities, various international organizations (UNESCO, CRDF, NATO, InWEnt, IAEA, etc.) and foreign scientific funds. Also the university takes part in educational programs of TEMPUS, ERASMUS MUNDUS within the European Commission, in the Inspire program through the British Council, etc.
Strategic objectives of development of the international activity of university:
achievement of the international quality standards in the field of research and training programs;
harmonization of al-Farabi Kazakh National University curricula with curricula of world leading universities on the appropriate educational programs;
increase in mobility of students and academic staff in the international educational process;
introduction and implementation of programs of joint diplomas as most important means of increase of competitiveness of al-Farabi Kazakh National University in the market of educational services;
development of the international scientific activity of university, improvement of quality and participation scales of al-Farabi Kazakh National University in the international scientific, scientific and technical and innovative programs and projects;
increase of the international authority of al-Farabi Kazakh National University, including by participation in the international ratings and accreditation of educational programs and an institutionalization of higher education institution in the leading international agencies;
development of language training of teachers, employees and students;
providing the increasing contribution of the international activity to financial stability of university.
