Douglas Reardon. Director of the flagship programs and language initiatives of the NSEP, the American Council for international education sent a letter of gratitude to the Rector of KazNU!

Dear Professor Mutanov,

I and the staff at The American Councils for International Education in Washington, DC, would like to extend our warmest thanks to you upon the occasion of the fifth anniversary of official cooperation between our organization and the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, which we will observe in May of this year.

In the past five years since the conclusion of our agreement for the placement of Overseas Russian Flagship Program students at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, nearly eighty students have achieved level III certifications on the official TRKI scale and have successfully met the high goals and standards set by our organization and funders.

According to several metrics that measure testable language progress, the Russian Overseas Flagship Language Program at KazNU scores among the top immersion programs for methodological innovation, cultural adaptation, and provable language gain.

We would also like to note the measurable stride in introducing modules for Kazakh language and culture and the language gains in Kazakh made by students through the auspices of KazNU and its committed staff of teachers and administrators.

Please allow me to express my deep appreciation for the services that you have provided, and continue to provide, to our Flagship students, and for the notable ease of communication and level of cooperation and openness that we have experienced in the five years of our official relationship.

We are certainly looking forward to continued cooperation in the future.
