Kazakhstan delegation of Rectors- members of the Consortium on training for SPIID-2 took part in the World Forum for Engineering Education in Florence (Italy) under the motto "Engineering education for a sustainable society". The forum became the intellectual platform for the experts of engineering community from more than 130 countries.

From September 21-25, 2015 Florence hosted the World Forum for Engineering Education which united expert professional community from around the world. The vector of the development of global engineering education, the search of new forms of scientific partnership, education and industry, the quality of engineering education programs, new tools and technology training and other issues were discussed at the Forum. The role of such a big Forum is particularly relevant in light of the trend of globalization of the economy and the acceleration of scientific and technological progress of mankind, where modern engineering education is a basic component of sustainable development.

Following the Forum there were signed the Institutional Agreement between the Consortium of Universities of Kazakhstan, the International Engineering Community IFEES, ENAEE, IGIP and Kazakhstani Society of Engineering Education (KazSEE) to ensure the quality of educational programs, high level of professional skills and certification of graduates.

Especially worth noting that in the frameworks of the Forum it was decided to establish a Central Asian hub for quality assurance in engineering education and accreditation of educational programs of the Centre on the basis of KazSEE activities with the integration into the European network of quality assurance agencies.

Also as a part of WEEF 2015 a meeting of representatives of the Consortium of Universities of Kazakhstan with the President of IFEES Cukierman U. and the Secretary General of ASEE Hoyer H. J. took place, they discussed global trends in the development of engineering education, the quality of engineering education programs and advanced technologies of engineering education.

The final stage of the trip of Kazakhstan delegation was visiting the World Expo 2015 in Milan. Of particular interest is the Consortium called experience of educational organizations in Italy, showcasing their innovative scientific research at EXPO-2015.

Vytautas Magnus University welcomes Free Movers (non-degree students) to apply for Bachelor or Master’s level courses offered in English and English Prep- Course.

Free Mover students are individual, international students who, upon payment are temporarily (one or two semesters) registered at Vytautas Magnus University for courses in the Bachelor or Master level offered in English. They organize his / her studies in Vytautas Magnus University independently.

After their term in Vytautas Magnus University, Free Mover students receive a transcript of records, but not a degree or a diploma. This is a perfect way to collect some international credits!
